A grain soup was enjoyed by the students and school personnel of the E.B.N.B.
José Chiquinquirá Rodriguez, located in the town Jesús Enrique Lossada in Mara, in the State of Zulia.
This Thursday, May 31st, the students, teachers and school personnel from
the E.B.N.B. José Chiquinquirá Rodríguez, located at the km 20 on the way to
Perijá, at the Jagüey Largo sector, in the Mariano Parra León parish, in the town
Jesús Enrique Lossada, enjoyed the humanitarian soup, a nutritional benefit
provided by the Wayuu Taya Foundation, under their health and nutrition program.
Over 100 people from the E.B.N.B José Chiquinquirá Rodríguez enjoyed the grain
soup prepared by Silvia Urdaneta, Yely Urdaneta, Yolis Martínez, Deyanira
Santander and the institution’s Madres Procesadoras.
The foundation team made a tour around the institution’s areas to get to know their
plantain, yuca, beans, eggplant, chives, watermelon, sap and medicinal plant
crops, cultivated by the students with help from the teachers.
According to Silvia Urdaneta, one of the institution’s Madres Procesadoras, the
vegetables planted by the children are used to prepare the meals which are eaten
at the school.
The school’s principal, Ana Lucia Espeleta, thanked the Wayu Taya Foundation for
taking the initiative of visiting the school and benefiting the children with food; “I
always hoped for the foundation to benefit us with its programs, even if it is not by
preparing soup every day, it is a way of mitigating the hunger experienced
nowadays; the foundation being here is a blessing and I am very thankful for it”,
The foundation’s personnel took the opportunity of the visit to the school to provide
shirts to the teachers and administrative staff to complement their institutional
