The students from the school Virgen de la Paz received the students from the school José Chiquinquirá on their home turf to compete for the Wayuu Taya trophy in an indoor soccer match.

      The match took place in the morning of Friday, March 31st on the court “Leo Brea” at the school Virgen de la Paz, located in La Concepción, in the town Jesús Enrique Lossada.

The clash between both institutions was even until the 7th minute, when Braulio González, from the Virgen de la Paz team scored the first goal, glee could be felt from the stands, where their peers cheered the names of the players and supported their teams. In the second half, the referee signaled a penalty which was also taken by González, who would go on to score his team’s 3rd goal. The result ended 4-2, in favor of the host school.

Limayri Velásquez, Patricia Velásquez’s sister, was among the attendees; she thanked everyone for the opportunity to be there. She also handed the trophy and the medals to the winning team. Ana Lucia Espaletta, director of the José Chiquinquirá institution also expressed her gratitude for the invitation and highlighted the importance of these kinds of activities, “for me, everyone’s a winner”, she added. Professor Pedro del Rosario claimed that he felt satisfied with the social acts performed by the Wayuu Taya Foundation.

The guests enjoyed a delicious snack, cake, cupcakes and juice provided by the foundation. Safety was provided by the Chief Supervisor, Pedro Hernández and the Chief Officer Licilio Rivas, who form part of CPBEZ.
