The programs Technology for the Wayúu Education (Tecnología para la Educación Wayúu), Tepichi Talashi, Los Lechosos, El Mogu and Shukumajaya, were born from the need to provide development, growth and learning opportunities to the indigenous communities, while also offering the necessary tools for the Wayúu women to show their culture and creativity.

With these programs, the Wayúu Taya Foundation helps over 450,000 people. Not only do children get access to proper education and recreation, but also to suitable feeding and medical care; moreover, the Wayúu women receive an income thanks to the knitting of their bags (Susu) and other sorts of crafts, inherent to the Wayúu culture, in order to provide for their families, while other women work as helpers in their communities’ educational institutions making our programs sustainable.
